Who developed Eager Readers?

Hello, my name is Tara Shaver and I am passionate about everything to do with English! I am the teacher and developer of Eager Readers. I have a Master of Education in ESL (English as a Second Language) and a Bachelor of Education with concentrations in both Early Childhood and Reading.

Originally from Canada, I have experience teaching in public and private schools—in Canada, U.S.A., U.K. and Australia. Beginning in 1996, my teaching experience covers a wide range of roles, including Primary Class Teacher, Literacy Specialist and EAL/ESL teacher.

In 2014, I started Eager Readers as an early literacy program, but over the years it has turned into so much more! Now I offer a range of English programs, from pre-reading to essay writing.

In addition to my teaching roles, I have led several parent workshops and staff development sessions on topics related to literacy development, ESL/EAL and mother tongue/first language development.
